European Peering Forum (EPF) held in Sofia

11th European Peering Forum

BIX.BG was the local host of the 11th European Peering Forum (EPF) held in Sofia, Bulgaria from the 19th till 21st of September 2016. 

The event was organised and hosted by AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX, Netnod and guest IXP NIX.CZ.

The event have been attended by 250 peering managers and coordinators from networks connected to the host Internet exchanges. Besides an interesting topical agenda, attendees had the opportunity to meet on a one-to-one basis to discuss bilateral peering business opportunities.

The primary goal of EPF is to provide the peering community with a fruitful event that enables them to successfully establish new peers, and extend existing peering arrangements as well as sharing information and experience beneficial to the whole peering community.

The 11th EPF agenda included the following topics:

  • Regional Peering
  • Interconnection and Peering Internet Governance and Regulatory Topics
  • Economic and Product Trends
  • Peering & Interconnection Strategy
  • Interesting findings about peering
  • 100GE and beyond

BIX.BG also organised Welcome Party on Sunday, 18th September at the Marionette Club, where attendees enjoyed  the Japanese Gardens, fine selection of finger foods and drinks in relaxing atmosphere.
